At our Special Parish Meeting held on Dec.12th., our parishioners approved the recommendation from our Ministry Council to renovate our parish hall adding a new heating and cooling system; and to continue to paint Icons in our church. Donations and Pledges were made in the amount of $24,772 at the meeting.
This is a good beginning for us, but we have a long way to go. The cost of the project is $125,000. Pledge cards have been mailed to each household and members can contribute any amount they want, however, the asking amount is $1250.00. It should also be noted that if you simply want to donate to the Hall renovation, that amount would be approximately $850.00. You can designate your donation for "Hall renovation only."
As in the past, anyone wanting to donate for a specific Icon in the Church or for any of the major icons that will be painted is encouraged to do so. If God so wills we will complete the Hall renovation in approximately two months after we begin the project. We will not, however, begin the project until enough pledges and donations have been gathered.
Our parishioners also approved the Ministry Council to enter into a loan with Chase Bank for an amount that is needed to fund the project while donations are being collected.
